A powerful stone known for its use for protection and rejuvenation  across various ancient cultures.
A favorable stone in Ancient Egypt, Goddess Isis was said to use Carnelian to protect the souls of the dead and guide them on their journey into the afterlife. Hieroglyphic texts from the Book of the Dead were engraved on Carnelian amulets to procure a safe passage. The ancient Egyptians referred to it as the ‘sunset stone,’ due to its fiery colors.  Early Babylonians, the ancient Greeks and Romans were also known for their use of Carnelian, wearing rings and amulets bearing this precious stone. Engravings of powerful deities were often carved, and warriors often wore Carnelian to enhance strength, boldness and fighting prowess. Carnelian, stems from the Latin word carneus, meaning “flesh.”
